2015 Season of Musical Theatre
Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.
When: July 25 - August 2
Where: Chilliwack Cultural Centre, HUB International Theatre
SPOTLIGHT: The Last Five Years
The Last Five Years chronicles the five year relationship of Cathy and Jamie. The show describes their first date, their wedding and their eventual break up. The Last Five Years uses a unique form of storytelling. Jamie tells his side of the story from the beginning of the relationship and goes forward. Meanwhile, Cathy starts at the end of the relationship and works backwards. The only time both characters 'meet' is at their wedding which takes place in the middle of the show.
