What drew you to work on this show?
I was told about auditions for the show by Anna Canaday, but I might not have auditioned had it been a different show. Not only was my musical theatre idol, Laura Osnes once in this show as Dorothy (a great motivator for me initially and now), The Wizard of Oz is just so iconic and fun and meaningful to so many people of so many ages. I thought being a part of this production would be a very special and rewarding experience, and so far I've been right!
How long have you been working in your field for?
Although I've been in and out of various drama classes for the majority of my life, this year has kind of been my year of exploration and taking leaps. I got my first lead this year in a school musical, so I'm very humbled to find myself so quickly in a role like this, as well as incredibly grateful. Hopefully I will be working in it for a very long time to come!
Who is your favourite character from The Wizard of Oz and why?
I'm probably going to have to say the Scarecrow. He's the first of Dorothy's companions that we're introduced to and right off the bat he introduces and sets us up for the humor, the kindness, and funnily enough, the brains that he contributes throughout the rest of the story. Plus, I think "If I Only Had a Brain" can be relatable to all of us sometimes.
