Like several of our cast, you’re jumping into Woods rehearsals directly after another show. Tell us about your current production.
I recently finished performing in Annie with Royal City Musical Theatre, which was such an amazing experience. The cast was incredible and our director Valerie Easton is so brilliant with her work. I feel so grateful to have been a part of such a big production. The show I'm currently working on is Reefer Madness with Awkward Stage Productions. It's a hilarious satire about the dangers of marijuana, based on a propaganda movie from the 1930s. Again, the cast is full of insanely talented Vancouver actors, and I feel so privileged to be working with them. It will run at CBC Studio 700 in Vancouver from May 14th-18th.
Where are you headed next year?
In September I will be moving to Toronto, ON to attend the Randolph Academy! It's a 2-year triple threat program that molds young performers into working actors. CRAZY FACT: Director Adam Charles graduated from Randolph! Even crazier, I will be attending school with fellow cast member Brittany Clough and SC alumni Connor Ferris! I feel so lucky to be sharing this experience with my friends and I am unbelievably excited for what the future has in store for me.
This is your third Secondary Characters production. Do you have a favourite so far? What are you most looking forward to about Woods?
I love every SC show I do, although I feel like Woods will end up being my favourite. I love the sense of family among the cast members every year. I've loved working with kids in the past shows (Sound of Music and Joseph), so Woods will definitely be different without a band of little monkeys running around. I'm so excited to be directed by Adam, someone I truly admire and look up to. I am also excited (and a little nervous) to be taking on my biggest role yet! I can't wait to truly develop the character of Cinderella.
