Cord Elam - Oklahoma!
How did you get involved with this production?
Most unnecessary question ever “Say Emily, do you need male Chorus?”
I’ve always wanted to participate in a Chilliwack based production, nice and close to home; get involved with its Arts community, get to know the people, see how a different drama group runs its show. And voila, Oklahoma! lined up perfectly.
Tell us a bit about your theatre background.
First time with SC, though I’ve been involved in 20+ shows over the last decade from G+S such as HMS Pinaphore, Mikado, Iolanthe. Other shows would include Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik) , Brigadoon (Harry Beaton), and ironically another rendition of Oklahoma! (Ali Hakim). I’ve been somewhat typecast in that I usually get beat up or killed off…it’s nice to be the US Marshall for a change;)
What do you do when you're not working on a show?
Real life: I work as an in-house financial guru at a local financial institution…I have to work extra hard to be convincing now that I am walking around the branch sporting huge sideburns and a handlebar moustache.
